Who we areBorn of practice, not of a mission statement
Insight Smart Technologies did not start from a market idea. It started from a very concrete irritation: watching capable professionals spend their days retyping figures from one file into another.
Software before a company
Our first product was not designed to be sold. It was designed because the work was unbearable otherwise.
SANKOFA was born inside a local audit firm, to answer a situation everyone knows: an engagement run on a stack of workbooks, a financial statement that stops matching the general ledger the moment a trial balance is corrected, and two days of rework every time.
Building the tool, we discovered the problem reached far beyond audit. Everywhere, the same causes: software that does not talk to itself, processes never reworked from scratch, and IT accumulated one emergency at a time. Insight Smart Technologies was born of that observation — and of the conviction that it can be dealt with, provided you start by looking.
From that origin we keep a habit that sets us apart: we know what it is to be on the other side, having to deliver a file with a tool that does not help.
Five convictions that sometimes cost us contracts
They are not there for decoration. Each has already lost us a piece of business — and that is exactly right.
Look before proposing
A solution recommended without a diagnosis is a sale, not advice. We refuse to price a project we have not seen up close.
What is not measured does not exist
“It is faster” is not a result. We time it before, we time it after, and we publish the difference even when it disappoints.
Technical restraint is a virtue
Every dependency added is future debt. We prefer the boring tool that will last ten years to the one that impresses today.
You must be able to leave
Code, data and documentation are yours from the first delivery. A relationship held together only by dependence is not one.
AI is not an end in itself
We do not install artificial intelligence to fill out a catalogue. If a well-built spreadsheet is enough, we say so — and we charge less for it.
